How does shipping work?

Once both traders agree on a swap, each party ships their beers directly to the other. You add a tracking number in the app so both sides can follow the shipment. We recommend using insulated packaging and cold packs for temperature-sensitive brews.

What if my trade partner doesn’t ship?

Our two-sided confirmation system requires both parties to mark shipment and receipt. If a trader doesn’t ship within the agreed timeframe, you can flag the trade and leave a rating. Repeat offenders are suspended from the platform.

Is my address shared publicly?

No. Your shipping address is only shared with your confirmed trade partner after both sides accept a trade. It is never displayed publicly on your profile or in search results.

Is trading beer legal?

Beer trading laws vary by state and country. HopsTrader is a platform that connects enthusiasts — it’s your responsibility to comply with local regulations. We require all users to be 21+ and we do not facilitate sales, only peer-to-peer trades.

How is age verified?

During sign-up, users confirm they are 21 or older. We reserve the right to request additional verification at any time. Misrepresenting your age results in immediate account termination.

Is HopsTrader free to use?

Yes! Our Trial plan is completely free and lets you list up to 10 beers with 2 trades per month. For unlimited trading, our Monthly plan is just $5/month or save with the $55/year annual plan.

How do ratings work?

After both parties confirm receipt, each trader can leave a 1–5 star rating and a comment. Ratings are public on your profile and help build trust in the community. You can only rate trades you’ve actually completed.

What kinds of beer can I trade?

Any commercially produced craft beer that’s in the Untappd database can be listed. This includes limited releases, seasonal brews, and regional exclusives. Homebrew and opened containers are not permitted.
